Heh??

I believe my 4 year old has 2 volumes. Loud and asleep.

He's especially the former when trying to put the baby to sleep.

Unfeeling blue

I think I'm tired of people wearing their bluetooth thingamabobs all the time. I just saw a janitor custodial engineer wearing one and talking to someone while using both hands to clean a toilet.

Hmmmm. I don't even like to TALK on the phone while in the bathroom.

1 year old

Yesterday was my daughter's first birthday. I can't believe how the time has flown by. I'm not sure I remember everything about her birth, but I do remember it was one of the most amazing moments. After the Munchkin was born, I didn't think anything else would be as remarkable. I couldn't even imagine what she would be like a year from then and now a year later, I can almost see what she will be like in the future. She's just like her mother, strong willed, determined, and beautiful. We are so blessed to have her and I can't imagine what surprises lay in store for us. All I know is that it will be an adventure.

And since I'm such a bad father and haven't bragged about how beautiful my daughter is, here are some more recent pictures.

Happy Birthday Little Bear!

Google Map

Below is a map of the airports I've been to. I'll try to update it as I go around the country.

No, there is too much. Let me sum up.

Ok, here we go. I know I've been quiet here for the last few days and while a lot has happened, I just didn't have time to sit down and write. So, last time we met, I was getting my ass handed to me in the simulator. Well, let me tell you, it got really stressful there at the end. Not only did the scheduled check airman change from someone I knew pretty well to someone brand new and unproven, but it also involved the FAA riding along during my checkride. All that sprung on me at the last moment. Needless to say, Di wouldn't talk to me until I finished up. I was that much of a downer and a grump. All that aside, I passed my ride and I am now a Learjet type-rated Airline Transport Pilot.

It's probably the most stressed I've been about a checkride in a long time. But it's definitely an accomplishment to me. I mean there's a lot of them out there, but it was a big hurdle. You can start the congratulations now...I'll wait....

As soon as I got back from sim training, though, I had 1 day before I had to finish my company training. That lasted all of 1 more day and I was back on the line and on a trip. So far this trip, I've been to Teterboro, Dulles, Boston Logan, Toronto, Omaha, and right now I'm sitting in Aspen. Yeah, I'm still hanging on the tail at the moment. Yeah, kinda busy. I've got some pictures from my camera phone (since I forgot my real camera at home), but that'll have to wait until tomorrow. I can't find my adapter and I don't feel like looking for it.

Tease

You know, I was going to post about what's been going on in the last week or so, but I'm too tired. So, I'll just have to do it when I get to my next stop. Until then, you can agonize in suspense. Not that it's much agony.

I believe the phrase would be...

...kicking my ass.

And is the sim ever doing that. It's probably because they doubled up and are pushing me through as fast as they can. Meaning, I get in 3 days what they usually give 6. I'm trying to keep up, but I think I hit my wall today. I'm tired, my brain is full and I'm starting to forget the little details that they will ask me on Friday. I think I'm just ready to get home. Not ready to go back to work, but ready to get home.

But enough of my bitchin'. Back to the books.
